This is not a cooler, just a extra compartment for your vehicle!! July 19, 2010 Just the truth This is not a cooler peoples, This is an extra compartment for your vehicle, I bought this for my mothers birthday and I was so ashamed, My mom was like baby, i thought this was a cooler, She said it didnt do nothing!!!, i contacted the seller several times, he only bothered to respond to one of my emails, he said he uses the same cooler as if that makes anything any better, I didnt even bother returning anything, I live in one state and my mom lives in another, I am warning anyone who wants to buy from this seller, you will be very disapointed!! do not fool yourself, unless you need extra cup holders, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!
Excellent Cooler for Traveling January 5, 2010 Ted J. Adamczyk (Sierra Vista, USA) Used this cooler to keep film, batteries, etc. cool photographing the west and southwest. It does the job in keeping these items cool. Would precool the unit every morning while traveling and then run it off the cigarette lighter in the vehicle the rest of the day. Very satisfied with the cooler for this use.

This cooler works well keeping drinks and medications 20 degrees cooler than ambient temp. It is small enough to be convenient.

It works, but does not cool things down very fast and could use a fan inside and some more insulation outside. Its pretty quiet, the outer fan is the only noise. It uses a solid state thermocouple system that moves heat or cold to opposite sides of its thermocouple stack (thermoelectric Peltier effect, FYI). So the only moving part is its outer cooling fan. I have been running it on a LARGE current 12 volt AC to DC converter for a week now. The cold heat sink gets ice on it, so it is pretty cold, but the cans in the cooler (fits 8) are not staying that cold. It needs a fan to move the cool to the rest of the inside of its case. It also could use some more insulation around the cans (its has a soft rubber inside semi insulation design). Pros, it is light, comes with a carry shoulder strap and is a nice device for the price. I will add a small pentium 24 volt fan (tapped off its 12 volt plug on its front so it runs slower) on its inner cool sink to more the cold around the inside case and see what happens. The major issue is current draw, do not run it without your engine running as it will kill your car battery in a day. NOTE it does NOT come with the 110 volt AC to 12 volt DC converter for use at home or in a hotel. It needs at least a 3 amp 12 volt DC converter, and these are not cheap so go with the B&D version sold for it. But for what I use it for, its fine compared to a mini fridge that runs on a more normal freon compressor system. At $40 its a nice little novelty. I think they go for $50 at Pep Boys.
waste of money September 19, 2008 Nicholas Capozzi (the gold coast of L.I.) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This item is a big waste after I pluged it in to my car it bearly cooled my water much less keep it cooled. After I read the instructions it tells you to buy an adopter, another 20 bucks, so you can plug it into your home, It does cool down after about two hours, when you get into the car and plug it in there on a hot day even with the AC on it does not hold the chill. Don't bother, I'm a diabetic and I need to keep my insulin cool
it only does after you plug it in at home for hours and then not for too long after it's in thr car.
